About the Course

The course looks at how to perform the ritual prayer (ṣalāh) as it is the most important and repeated Islamic obligation. 

Even though the practical method of performing the prayer is not displayed in the book, we will however, be studying the method in detail, both for men and women alike and according to the Hanafi School of jurisprudence. Additional pamphlets will be provided for the practical performance of ṣalāh.

The course will also cover the duʿās (supplications) recited post-ṣalāh, the Adhan (call to prayer), and the Janāzah ṣalāh (funeral prayer); followed by the Kalimāt, which are important invocations that contain important articles of faith, along with specific Qur’anic verses that have an added distinct merit: [for e.g] Āyat al-Kursī and the last verses of the Surah al-Baqarah. Finally, we will study the Prophet’s ﷺ everyday duʿās related to his daily life. 

We will use the sessions to additionally explore the inner significance and spiritual dimensions of the prayer, the adhan, and various Prophetic invocations, so that seekers may begin to internalise the prayer every moment and utterance, understanding it entirely as a communication with Allah Most High that will God-willing (in sha’ Allah) lead to improving your relationship with the Divine.
